Principia Harmonia
To make it short: I had a nice day and will go to sleep now. Thank you, bye, whatever.
Long version: Today, I had several visitors. First of all a friend of a friend came to practice Czech with me. Works out fine and would be even better if I would learn vocabulary :/ So I decided to study much more the next days. For example I will put notes on things in my room, like a note on my bed which says “postel, m, u”.
Just a little bit later I met some other Erasmus students (from France, Finland, Spain and Germany) which I know from my language course and our (former) student support (Czech) and we had a very tasty meal and a very nice evening with stupid games and serious discussions. And lots of languages of course ^^ Unfortunately they all had to leave before we could clean all the dishes… -_-
;)
The last time I was in Germany I met several friends and I’ve often been asked what people from other countries think about Germany and its people. I couldn’t remember a lot of things but now I’ve got something nice: When I prepared tea for my guests yesterday (of course everybody had a different one) I put an empty cup on the table for the used tee bags and the French guy said: “Hehe, German organisation”. Just to give you a small impression :) I’ll post other things when there are more.
Haha, I just found more! Read Jennifers Weblog, she is from America and lives in Germany at the moment. She wrote a nice post about “What is German”.

Yeah, I know the feeling; when it comes to doing the dishes or cleaning up, I remember every single point of my agenda, and it always includes something VERY important that requires attention RIGHT NOW THIS INSTANT.
=p
PS: Ich find’s gut, dass zu diesem Post Werbung für den Audi RS4 und Audi RS6 kommt. Nicht, weil es irgendwie sinnvoll wäre, sondern weil ich das Auto mag.
Nice to see how your English is making progress. I wish you the same for your Czech. ;)
Oh, don’t forget to mention the crossing-the-street-on-a-red-light thing. Rather striking considered that Germany is so close to France, who are known for their flagrant disrespect for rules..
I always thought it rather comforting to wake up in the morning to a trashed house; like I was important enough that people would even bother to come over and trash it in the first place.
Geographically speaking, France is close to Germany indeed, but it is mentally as far away as George Lucas’ fantasies.
Well my English is making progress but not as much as it might seem. Actually there are plenty of people, checking spelling etc here ;)
@ Michi: you’re only saying this because you are Saarländer :p
@ Jen: You’re right! A trashed house is comforting. But cleaning it up ist not ;)
tea… did i hear tea…. hmmm TEA
