Gutenachtgeschichten — schuehsch @ 4. October 2006, 22:19

Don’t ask me how I did that, but I never saw Pražský hrad before in the night. I just did. A few hours ago. And I’m still… Ou, I’d like to go there again. Just standing at the Vltava and seeing Pražský hrad. It’s very lovely.
I’ve had my first lectures today. They were all very nice but one was just awesome. We weren’t taught in a classroom, it’s more like his office or something and it’s quite a small room. The course is about Czech underground literature (which is a quite interesting thing, I think) and a lot of students showed up. The room appeared to be too small, so the last students got chairs out of other rooms and sat in the corridor while the door was open. And then he talked. When somebody passed by the open door he waved and smiled. He loves the subject. He’s a great teacher. The whole situation – sitting there, in an office or whatever, very crowded, old chairs, only two tables for thirty people – it felt very much, that the whole thing is about knowledge. It’s not about being a modern or shiny university. It’s not about having anything. It’s about knowing. And this is more than I ever hoped it would be. Apparentness. And than at night and the moon and the Vltava and Pražský hrad.
Ich kann das nicht in einer Fremdsprache erklären. Ich kann das in keiner Sprache erklären. Ich bin die Moderne, Worte tragen nicht.
