re.start.
That was a really hard day. First of all I got up at a quarter to eight. That’s early! The whole town was crowded, the tram could barely move any further. I got off at the right station, but in the streets I got lost.
Not really badly, but it took me 25 minutes to walk a way you’d usually make in 10 minutes. In front of the office in the university-building where I should get my student ID I had to wait about 15 minutes. Then I didn’t get my card, no, but all the forms which are needed for the card and the ticket for the bus and stuff. And photos. Did I bring a photo? No, I didn’t.
Nobody could tell me where to take one, so I went to the Hlavní nádraží, where they have a machine. It would only work with coins. I didn’t have enough. The fourth guy I asked changed my money.
With photos and all the forms I went back to the office where you can get those three month tickets. I found the building and the right queue and waited again. After only 15 minutes it was my turn and somehow I managed to get the ticket. Great. I went to the city center again because I wanted to know which courses will be offered this term (ja, it would be easier if they put it online, but they just don’t).
First faculty: Nice things, several things. Even some stuff they may accept in Germany. Happiness. Second faculty: nothing. I learned, that at two o’clock there would a be a general introduction, kk, see you then. Back to the very first university building because it was nearly 1 p.m. and now the office for student IDs should be open. I arrived there at quarter past one and it was open. In front of it there was a queue of 30 people and they moved extremely slow. I waited for three hours, sitting, standing, reading in a very cold cellar corridor. After some discussion and phone calls the guy in the office finally gave me my card.
When I came out it was raining. I did some urgent shopping and went home. I got a call from a lovely and upset boy, we talked, but nothing got better. My pasta was tasty.
In other news: The internet connection is so goddamn slow. I got cold feet.
I forgot how exhausting it is to get enrolled. I really forgot about it. And it hasn’t been so very different in Germany, so this is nothing about this country, just about this day =D
